Effective date: July 6, 2026
World Museums ("the app") helps you discover museums with free admission around the world. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
The app does not require an account and does not collect, store, or sell personal information.
If you tap the "my location" button, the app asks for permission to access your device's location. Your location is used only on your device to center the map and show museums near you. It is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties. You can use the entire app without granting location permission.
Museum information (names, addresses, opening hours, images) is delivered from Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). When the app fetches this data, standard technical information (such as your IP address) is processed by Google as part of operating the service. See Firebase Privacy and Security for details. Map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap; when tiles are loaded, your IP address is visible to the OpenStreetMap tile servers as with any web request.
Your favorites, trips, downloaded countries, and cached museum data are stored locally on your device only. Deleting the app removes them.
The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
